MCM Electronics at the 2017 Dayton Mini Maker Faire

The Carillon Historical Park will be hosting the first ever Dayton Mini Maker Faire on Saturday & Sunday, August 5th & 6th! The Faire itself was put together by the local maker group - Make It Dayton which was the creative force behind last year's debut Maker Faire. Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker Movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning.

What's There to Do?

Over 60 makers will be in attendance showing off their amazing creations and several will even be leading hands-on demonstrations. There will be all types of making represented including virtual reality, quilting/sewing, rocket demonstrations, 3D printing demos, a steam powered bicycle and much more! You can also watch two teams of local makers compete in the Boneyard Build Off where they will go head to head and create a functional device based on the guidelines they are given that morning.

We will be located inside the Deed's Barn with a How To workshop featuring the new Micro:Bit Pocket Sized Codeable Microcontroller, our huge Raspberry Pi Infinity+,  and some maker-related items for sale including Raspberry Pi Kits, Micro:Bit kits, and our Learn to Solder Kit! You can also enter a drawing to win some great maker related prizes!
