The first AFRL (Air Force Research Lab) PiDay Maker Faire started at exactly 3.14.15 @ 9:26:53 and MCM Electronics was on hand with plenty of Raspberry Pi boards, kits and demos. The show was a huge success with over 550 attendees who looked at dozens of maker projects and attended ten different panels and demos.
MCM Electronics Table: We had a selection of Raspberry Pi boards including the Pi 2 and starter kits which quickly sold out. In addition we had Fayarduino & BeagleBone Black boards as well as older model Raspberry Pi boards available at a discount. the rest of our space was spent showing off three Raspberry Pi's two with working game emulators and one with the standard Raspbian setup running a browser and collecting entries for our give away of an Android tablet. We also had a table showing off a Printr Bot Assembled Simple Metal 3D Printer and a set of Littlebits.
Projects & Panels Included: Raspberry Pi computing, Linux computing, 3D printing, custom UAV design, blacksmith manufacturing, custom soldering, custom kite fabrication, electronics, robotics, pneumatics, virtual world technology, HAM radios, music & more! (See below for links to more photos of projects)
Robot Attendee: One of the highlights of the Maker Faire was a mobile robot running on the mesh network and being controlled by an offsite operator. This two wheeled robot cruised all around the faire interacting with attendees and makers via a two way audio / video link.
