MCM Electronics traveled to the Lima Regional Information Technology Alliance Conference in Lima, OH this past Thursday to talk about MCM Electronics in general and the Raspberry Pi 2 in particular. We had plenty of Raspberry Pi's on hand plus a classic game emulator loaded up with Doom & Quake. In addition we had a sheet detailing six basic projects that can be created using the Raspberry Pi so attendees could better understand the practical applications of the board. While most of the attendees had heard of the Pi, very few had seen one in operation or in use. Overall the Pi was a stand out hit of the conference and the drawing for a free Raspberry Pi starter kit drew a lot of attention.
The conference itself was filled with IT professionals from all around the area representing a wide range of industries including a large number of educators. Also on hand were a selection of vendors from large companies like Cisco Systems and Time Warner Business Class to non-profits like the Ohio Technology Consortium. The main focus of the conference of course were the panels with three distinct tracts to choose from so everybody in attendance had plenty to hold their interest and many new ideas to bring back to their places of employment.
Thank you to LRITA and everybody who worked hard to put this event together. We had a great time and met a lot of interesting people.
