MCM Electronics at the 2016 Dayton Mini Maker Faire

The Carillon Historical Park will be hosting the first ever Dayton Mini Maker Faire on Saturday, July 16th! The Faire itself was put together by the local maker group - Make It Dayton which has sponsored Raspberry Pi Day events the past two years. Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker Movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning. 

What's There to Do?

Over 50 makers will be in attendance showing off their amazing creations and several will even be leading hands-on demonstrations. There will be all types of making represented including virtual reality, quilting / sewing, rocket demonstrations, 3D printing demos, a steam powered bicycle and much more! You can also watch two teams of local makers compete in the Boneyard Build Off where they will go head to head and create a functional device based on the guidelines they are given that morning. 

In addition, we have teamed up with the Proto Build Bar to sponsor a Learn to Solder workshop where you can learn how to solder for free and take home a sweet Light-Up LED Pin or Keychain Flashlight

We will also be located inside the main rotunda with our huge Raspberry Pi Infinity+, Five Raspberry Pi demo machines and of course plenty of maker-related items for sale including Raspberry Pi Kits, Raspberry Pi Accessories, Arduino Uno Boards, Soldering Equipment and our brand new Learn to Solder Kit! You can also enter a drawing to win some great maker related prizes!

Carillon Historical Park is at 1000 Carillon Blvd, Dayton, OH 45409. The park has 2 entrances, one on Carillon Boulevard and one on South Patterson Boulevard.
