Senior Product Manager

Deliver sales and margin goals of assigned technology by building and executing a powerful Product Strategy. Optimize the line card and product range, guide supplier, pricing, purchasing and product data decisions, and detail marketing investments, and deliver strong sales engagement and sales support.

Principal Accountabilities

Develop a Product Strategy which incorporates market knowledge and understanding of technology. This includes:
- Optimizing the Line Card and supplier / product range for competitive and compelling value proposition within a technology
- Providing guidance for pricing, product lifecycle, and product data decision making
- Detailed online and offline marketing investments
- Sales engagement requirements while achieving sales support
- Outlines and addresses any Private Label opportunity
- Execute the Product Strategy by working effectively with many other functions and external parties such as suppliers
- Deliver Sales and Margin goals of assigned Technology
- Continuously improve processes and productivity to maximize efficiency of work

Technical Product Author

Responsible for inputting and maintaining product data into database.  The Technical Product Author must interpret and standardize various attribute information from supplier data sheets, combine like attributes, convert different unit of measures, format the resulting data for tables, write copy and headlines to create module elements that will be used in the catalog, flyers and on the Web.

Principal Accountabilities

- Loading the correct content into the database and resolving any issues related to SKU creation
- Completing the work in process to build out the technical content and a product module within a set time frame to ensure products are quickly released to the customer
- Create and maintain the family folder structure, sub-commodity codes used for publishing and module indexing which are critical for other functions to reference similar products and publish to print or web
- Standardizing attribute data across a commodity and maintaining the tables of standardized values (LOV)
- Responsible for data approval which consists of technical attributes, short description, technical documents and image if available from the supplier
- Selecting the product image and icons used for the website and any modules
- Ensuring products are in their correct commodity code and transferring products into new commodity codes as defined by the business
- Module building – Enters data from suppliers into PM to create module elements.  Ensures data is complete so that products can be actively marketed in a timely fashion
- Grouping products into new and existing modules and maintaining the freshness, size and accuracy of the modules prior to publication
- Conducting a quality review of technical content delivered to the website to ensure it is complete and accurate
- Lead special projects such as data quality improvements or related implementing new applications which are used across the team
